Elli’s Backyard in Red Bank STYLE Tucked in along Broad Street, this eatery’s interior embraces a verdant look with a greenery-covered ceiling and chartreuse walls. THE SCOOP Opened in 2021 when a pandemic-related closing made the space available, and owner Patrick Jeffrey realized his dream for an eatery in downtown Red Bank. French toast, golden brown and sprinkled with powdered sugar, is delightful as well. Breakfast sandwiches, like the eye-catching Backyard Bomber, are also popular. It’s served on buttery brioche and layered high with pork roll, cheese, eggs and hash browns. Lunch options run from the light and refreshing chicken lettuce wraps, made with a sweet chili sauce, to the hearty steak sandwich, served au jus with horseradish for dipping. Dinner favorites include the house-baked wings. Penne vodka smothered in a homemade sauce is also a good pick; add peas and prosciutto to kick it up a notch. The smokehouse burger has maple-glazed bacon and crispy onions, and is served under a smoked-glass dome. HEADS UP Outdoor seating is available. No one knows New Jersey like we do.
